HOWL IS PART OF THE BEST SHIP.
haha anyway he's the white lotus guard from episode 1 who lets korra take naga out. People gave him a backstory and so he's basically Korra's first love back in the South Pole. She had to leave him when she came to Republic City. He's kind of dorky and has a thing for romance novels. err, it's pretty great ship since it's not tied down to how the show ends! If you like it then welcome aboard?

I'm a little confused as to who Howl is?

Sorry if this is a really stupid question. I don't have TV and the only things I keep up on are what's on Netflix and Korra though itunes downloads...

Howl is the order of the white lotus guard who lets Korra take Naga out in episode one! People made up a back story for him where basically he and Korra were really good friends and sort of had a first love/crush relationship but when she left to Republic City she had to leave him behind.
